STUDENT PREPARATION:
Prior to lecture, students should have read the Khan Academy Later Europe and Americas unit. Students should be prepared to discuss the economic, geographic, industrial and political themes of this era and how these themes impacted art for the artist and the audience.

UNIT ASSESSMENTS
Daily Grade #1-5 - Weekly grade for daily classroom/discussion/activity participation
Daily Grade #6 -Each student is responsible for one (1) unique entry per unit image into the Google Classroom Study Guide for the
current unit. Each entry should be informative to the group, add new information for study, have the student's name
for credit and either a link to a reliable internet source or an MLA citation of the source for the information. Any entry
that does not meet all expectations will not be counted in the grade. Entries are due by midnight on January 9.
Daily Grade #7-9 - Participation with partner in Drill and Kill during the weeks of November 22, December 6 and January 7. NOTE:
Drill and Kill does not have to be the current unit's images.
Major Grade #1 – Research Project
Theme: Recreate in food any of the 250 in our course. This may be the student's interpretation of the work. Students will present their creations to the class, properly identifying the piece and describing its form, function, content and context. Students will discuss how artistic decisions shaped the work and how its formal qualities elicit a response. Grade will be based upon the presentation to the class and the attempt of the recreation.
Research Project and Presentations due December 17 and December 19.
Major Grade #2 – 1st Semester Exam December 16 - 20, 2019
Exam Components: Multiple Choice over material covered to date.
Point Recovery is not available for this test.
Major Grades #3 - Multiple Choice Test and Essay Questions on January 9
Exam Components: (50) Multiple Choice over material covered to date
(2) Short Essay Questions
(1) 30-minute Essay Questions
Point Recovery is available for this test. THE RULES: Only attempted answers qualify for Point Recovery. Unanswered questions are not available for Point Recovery. On separate paper and numbered for the incorrect test questions, justify the correct answer or re-write the essay according to the correction notes on the test and include a proper MLA-formatted citation for the source. The teacher cannot be the source for the justification. Staple your justifications to the original test and turn by Wednesday of the following week for credit. Late papers will not be considered for Point Recovery.
